05 October 2018 - Stephen Dartnell (MD of Metrix) came to our team meeting last night and, weather permitting, it is planned that his team will repair blisters to the coating starting next week.  They should be finished in around one week. Water levels will not be affected and Metrix will ensure that no debris goes into the water. They will also turn off the jets and fountains on each leg they are working on and turn them on when they finish (the coating seals/cures in less than 30 minutes).

29 September 2018 - The Leg 2 filler pump fault has been fixed.

22 September 2018 - Leg 2 (middle leg up to harbour) has had to be switched off to carry out checks on the filler pump. More news will follow.

09 February 2018 - Recoat news -
Metrix Contractors, a family firm based in Polegate has been appointed to carry out a complete recoating of the feature using a modern, hard wearing, resin coating that is ideally suited to this type of concrete construction.  The coating is produced by WestWood Liquid Technologies Ltd. The work is expected to commence in late February and during recoating some paths and access points around the feature may need to be closed off at various times.

The CPMCL members were balloted on a choice of three colour schemes, and colour sample panels were placed in the water feature to help members make their final choice. A new, blue two-tone colour scheme has been decided on that will give the feature more depth and definition. Special finishes may be added to give some tonal variation.

The feature will need to be drained for the recoating, but this will be done one leg at a time. While a leg is drained, other contractors will carry out repairs and improvements to lights and other fittings.

The recoat and associated work represent the final stages of a complete refurbishment of the water feature that should set it up well for many years to come.
